OBJECTIVES OF VCAN
To pursue, propagate, advance, safeguard and promote the interests of the consumers in general, or a class or sub-class of consumers.
To raise the concerns of under-represented groups of consumers, namely those who are illiterate, residing in remote areas as well as other vulnerable sectors of society.
Engaging in dialogue with government and businesses to inform, persuade or negotiate on behalf of consumers.
Conducting surveys and research to study problems faced by consumers, including the impact of government policies on consumers and highlighting the findings to consumers, policymakers and the media.
To create consumer awareness through online and offline programs.
To protect consumers from unfair trade practices by monitoring market practices and reporting any unethical or illegal behaviours to relevant authorities for action.
To provide legal aid to consumers by way of assistance in seeking legal remedy through Consumer Helpdesk.
To establish helpdesks anywhere in Andhra Pradesh.
Networking and cooperating with other NGOs on consumer issues of shared concern and interest.
To do all such activities which will help the attainment of the objects of the Society.
